Junction At Monroe Celebrates Grand Opening with Live Music Lineup
Tallahassee’s newest live music venue The Junction at Monroe celebrates its grand opening Saturday, April 23 with a full day of music, culminating with a headline performance by North Florida country singer-songwriter Christon Birge.
The impressive new space, coined by owners Russ and Josie Pangratz and local supporters as the best sounding room in town, occupies an 80 year old building which used to house an historic farm and feed store on South Monroe Street. New renovations position “J@M” as Tallahassee’s elite venue to play and listen to live music. Along with added seating and tables, The Junction will open with a state-of-the-art sound system and unmatched light show.
“The Junction at Monroe is designed to be North Florida’s live music destination,” said Russ Pangratz, owner and operator of The Junction at Monroe. “With hundreds of talented musicians in the southeast, we are excited to breathe new life into such a historic building and create a unique platform for live performances in the capital city.”
Junction at Monroe is set in a charming 1936 warehouse with thick brick walls, original sliding metal fire doors, and is home to the Tallahassee Area Musicians Guild (TAMG). The 30 foot stage will showcase musicians from all over the country, pulling in acts that not only allow artists to showcase their talent, but provide the opportunity for our community to experience art in a new way.
North Florida singer-songwriter Christon Birge headlines the grand opening on April 23. Backed by a full band, Birge will be performing a mix of current and country classic covers and tunes from his brand new self titled three song EP available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and Amazon Music.
Birge delivers a blend of artistry and fun, mixed with a modern take on his traditional country roots. With playful lyrics and high-energy delivery influenced by everything from southern rock to traditional and progressive country, the Florida native is poised as one of the most exciting acts to launch into the country music industry this year.
“It’s always exciting when a new live music venue opens it’s doors here in North Florida,” said Birge. “I’m happy to be part of the celebration and to share some new music off my EP.”
